Paging Dr. Eden

Did you page?
So Eden had to be admitted to the hospital earlier this week due to severe asthma. After 24 scary hours she popped out of it and was happy and smiley again. This hospital had had the cutest little mini scrubs for the kids.

To top it all off I have a stethoscope that I let her wear for pictures.
Doesn't she make a cute little doctor.
I think I might send this picture to the hospital to put on their Christmas card board. Although it was definitely one of the scariest of all our hospital stays I have to say that I loved the nurses there. They were so sweet and wonderful with Eden. It was also the first time that I've had nurses take so many precautions to make sure that they didn't wake me when they came in and cared for her. I definitely will choose St. Mary's again for my children's medical needs.

Guess who lost their first tooth?

Guess who lost their first tooth?
I can't believe that Tennyson is old enough to be loosing his baby teeth, but here is the picture proof. I actually didn't get to see him loose it because we had to run Eden to the hospital. While we were gone he and his brothers were playing and it fell out and he literally lost it. We still haven't found it. I guess we'll have to leave the tooth fairy a note and hope she has mercy on us.
Tennyson thinks that the dot where his tooth use to be looks like a period. When ever we talk about it he asks if we're going to show people his period...luckily he's completely oblivious when we hid our snickers.

Thanksgiving

We have a wonderful Thanksgiving tradition of Breakfast sticky buns. It's the only time in the year that I make these sugar smothered treats and our kids love them.
This year we spent Thanksgiving in Minnesota with Christopher and Lisa. The kids loved the time to play with their cousins... and we loved the break it gave us to have them so entertained.

Unfortunately it was not all fun and games. Before we left Elijah had to have a steroid shot for his the asthma he was having with his cold. Shortly after that both Eden and Trey had asthmatic symptoms with there colds. Luckily the Doctor had sent us with extra steroid pills.
Can you guess what she's staring at.
Diego is her first love. She'll sit for anything if you have a Diego on.
 Isn't she sweet!
This is our cute niece Sylvie. She is so shy and would rarely look let alone smile at me, but pull out a camera and ....
 Wah Lah! a big cheese.

Our beautiful feast. Lisa did a great job on the turkey it was really juicy.

Yep the turkey works on everyone. Thanks Chris and Lisa for having us. We enjoyed spending time with you and your family.

Playing paparazzi

We Got a new camera for Christmas. (Yea we opened our present early) Our old camera bit the dust in September so we bought a new one with some Christmas money we got.
So we decided to play paparazzi with it. Yeah, if paparazzi showed up to our house we'd all just pose for them.

We had a little, ok a lot of fun playing with our new camera.

2 by 4

My 2 little boys turned 4 last month. We had their birthday party the day before their actual birthday. It was interesting as I walked through the day to think about what I had been doing 4 years before. I was very grateful when I went to bed that night knowing that if it was four years ago I'd end up in and out of sleep with contractions until things went wrong and I'd have to have an Emergency C-section. I think that makes you relish sleep just a little more when you realize that it could be oh so different.
I'm so grateful though for the two little boys that I got. I'm so grateful that I was at the hospital when everything happened so that we could get those babies out so fast. It's amazing to think how close this post could have come to not existing.
So it is with great delight that I made these two cakes for my boys who are just as different as night and day.
Elijah chose little einstiens Leo for his cake, and Enoch chose a rocket after seeing pictures on line. The Rocket cake is actually made with a fondant. It was my first experiment with fondant and it didn't turn out to bad. Although by time we got to the cakes the heat was taking quite a toll on them and the fondant started to sag and look like it was falling off.
And here they are dirt and all. We had the party outside which was good and bad. We forgot that the kids would gravitate to my neighbors dirt pile. The Neighbors are building a garage and they have the greatest dirt pile ever. At least that's what the kids think. My house begs to differ.
After roasting hotdog's the kids played for a good hour on the dirt. We generally like to invite families to birthday parties so us adults had a great time chatting while our children got covered in earth, and of course several jokes about how We were going to get paybacks for the dirty children they would have to clean.
After cake we opened presents and then everyone was off to clean their kids.
The picture above was actually taken a few weeks before the party, but it lets you know how the pile looks. Actually at the time of the party the pile was even bigger as they had also cleared a spot to put in a driveway.   I couldn't blame them for playing in it. What little kid would love a soft dirt pile to do tricks off of. My Neighbor Paul, who is a grandparent, said he always wanted to play in a dirt pile like that so he loved watching them get to do it. So thanks to all who came and made this day so fun and Thanks to Paul and Dalorus for the use of the dirt pile :)
                                                HAPPY BIRTHDAY ENOCH & ELIJAH
