Christmas 2008 (1st entry)

So this may look like a ball but it really is an apple. Santa found some of the biggest apples I've ever seen in my life. They are bigger then grapefruits but just smaller then a cantalope.

Trey and Tenny got a bed tent for Christmas so they could have there very own campouts in their room. It happens to be a mickey mouse clubhouse tent.

Tenny opening a veggie tales movie.

Treytion inspecting one of the many duck tales movies they got. We got all three volumes which equals about 30 hours of Duck Tales.

Enoch was happy right before the camera flashed.(this picture was taken in the evening)

All of Tennysons presents.

All of Treytions presents.

Mmmm... Does that look taste Elijah?

Elijah was asleep in the morning so he opened a few presents at night.

This was the only picture we got of both twins awake in the morning. It only lasted a minute or two because they both were fevered.

Tennyson loves these stretchy lizards. We lost the only one he had on Sunday so he was excited to get a whole package in his stocking.

My boys and their stockings.

So that about wraps up our first entry. We will be posting more pictures when they become available. Thanks for tuning in to our Christmas 2008.

All blocked out

Tenny fell a sleep on Monday while watching a movie so Trey decided to take the opportunity to have a little fun. This was the result.

Wrecking crew (Employed Sun. Dec. 21, 2008)

So here is the destruction of a grand structure... Trey's graham cracker house. It was delicious! We all shared it. Even the twins took part (Warning:Twins are not actually eating it. Do not try this at home with your own 4 month old.)

We also ate our ginger bread house on christmas eve but it was not near as good as this little structure Trey did.

WE FOUND IT!

We found our camera charger! I'm so excited I think I took thirty pictures today. Our Bishop found it at the church. That means it's probably been there since halloween. Crazy how you don't miss something until its been gone a while. I hadn't realized also how much I loved my camera until it was gone. Anyway here is pictures of Trey's birthday, Trey's graham cracker house, the twins christmas outfits, and our christmas stockings and tree.(p.s. mom this is when Donovan was talking to you on the phone.)

Home alone 27

So you know that part in Home Alone where Kevin puts water on the stairs and then later the Robber comes and slips on it falling all the way to the bottom step. Well I promise you that there is no way he would have been able to get up after that. I should know I did it yesterday. We had a little ice storm here that left about an eighth of an inch of ice on things. Not that much I know but apparently enough to cause significant damage to ones spine. I was headed out of the house to a doctors appointment when I looked at our front porch steps and thought they looked a bit wet. Not thinking to much about it, and being a bit in a hurry, I took a step. I remember only one thing between where I started and where I ended up and that was a loud crack that came from the region of my spine. I don't think I actually hit on my spine but I'm not sure because a lot of things hit our four large concrete steps. Anyway needless to say I ended up in the Emergency room on a back board. After extensive x-rays they said I had not broken any bones but I did have significant muscle damage. Enough to raise my potassium level in my blood. Looking back I think man I'm just glad I didn't break anything. Taking care of twins is hard enough let a lone the fact that one has the flu right now and Tennyson has pneumonia, but hey throw a broken bone into the mix and that would just be awful. Anyway after drugs, Ice, and rest I am feeling ok and I am able to get around. So Word to the Wise-look before you leap, or step, or any other forward motion when ice may be present.

Congrats

WE DID IT!
Donovan took his Last Preliminary exam today and found out that he has passed.
He is now a Doctoral Candidate instead of just a Student.

All that is left is to do his dissertation and then he will be done. It seems so strange that we are so close to the end. OK so it's still a year and a half away but that is so much closer then the eight years we've been working on this. And yes I can say we because I think I've worked just as hard getting him here. Anyway Congratulations Love of My Life.

Play list

So when I first started this blog my husband, Donovan, lamented that it seemed like he wasn't a part of it. I mean the title of the blog is four brothers and the url is 4brothers1mother. He said the least I could do is make it 4brothers1mother and 1 aa....other. Anyway through the months he has finally found his nook in this blog. He has completely taken over the play list. So I finally made a correction to the title. You may have noticed that it is no longer Teah's Music but Donovan's music. He's happy with his little tid bits to our blog. Kind of like he's happy with the eighth of the bed that he gets to sleep on at night. So I hope whenever you all come to our blog that when you hear the music you think of him.(In other words I'm claiming not to have put some of it on here :))

Enoch and Elijah's blessing

So I have to thank my sister in law for posting this picture on her blog so I could copy it and put it on my blog. If anyone is wondering why all of a sudden the pictures stopped its because we lost the charger for our camera's battery and so we don't have new pictures nor can we get them off onto the blog. So we are dependent on the pictures of others for a while.

Eggs!

So a little while back we taught Tennyson how to peel boiled eggs. He thinks this is great fun. Infact he likes it so much that we have to be careful to watch the refridgerator when he's around. He often sneaks in and gets out the bag of boiled eggs then if he has the time he will crack and peel everyone of them. I can't fault him for liking to peel eggs, but I'm having a real hard time eating all those eggs he peels before the go bad. He'll eat one every once in a while but it's up to Donovan and I to make sure the rest don't go to waste.

Updates soon

So I've kind of lagged on my posting but it's not my fault. It started will the impending ambush of my relatives. So with this looming over me I found my self compelled into house cleaning. Next I have a calling at church that requires large amounts of attention in November and December. So between being sucked into the vortex of the Wards "Community Nativity Celebration" and putting back together my house, which was in shambles, I have had no time.
So look for the new entries to be coming soon. Twins blessing, Thanksgiving Illinios Style, and St. Louis... Where no one can meet up for anything.

Poll Results

For those of you who took our Poll, the results are in. (Drum roll please)... Elijah was the biggest. I know it's quite deceiving by their pictures, but remember muscle and bone weigh more then fat. Elijah is a whole inch taller then Enoch so I think that's where it comes from. Their official stats are -
Enoch: 13 lb 3 oz and 23 inches tall
Elijah: 13 lb 8 oz and 24 inches tall
They have now jumped from being below the 10Th percentile to being in the 75Th percentile. This is a lot bigger jump then we expected to make. We thought it would be great if we could get them to the 40Th percentile but I guess the cream is paying off. Hope you all had fun with our poll.

Copy Cat (kind of)

So I kind of got this idea from my sister in law. She did a mom's diatribe. So I'm going to do an out of state or loners diatribe. For those of you who have lived far away from family for an extended amount of time you'll understand what I'm talking about.

I've noticed that it is so hard to explain to people how lonely it can become when your family is far away. Of late I just crave bits and pieces, whether big or small, of how everyone is doing and what they are doing in their lives. Its not that I want to be a busy body or something. It is just that I miss them so much that little bits of news help me feel like I'm just a little closer. Its hard because I have found that family members who live close to each other don't really understand this concept because they have others around that they can turn to. It's like they are feasting on Family and I'm getting table scraps. I guess this might explain my need to blog. I guess I hope that by blogging I can help those who can't be close feel like they are a little closer to me. I guess in a way I'm also trying to encourage others to have the same considerations for my feelings.

I hope you all know how much I love you and miss you. I'd like to give a Special I love you to my Mom and Dad. Thanks for the work you do. I Love You. I hope you've enjoyed the blog.

Who's going to weigh more?

So the twins 2 month appointment is on wednesday and I thought it would be fun to do a poll of who people think is going to weigh more. I also want to poll how much people think each will weigh. so put your two cents in. Here are some pictures for you to go by.(note: Elijah is on the left Enoch is on the right)

The Chicken Dance

So a few weeks ago I was at a yard sale and the person holding it decided to give my boys a little yellow toy chicken that waddles around and plays the chicken dance song. I don't mind the toy even though when found it seems to be played for several hours straight. My only problem is that it keeps getting left on the floor in the kitchen and so of course I have tripped over it several times. So yesterday, after one said tripping, I kicked the bird and said that it needed to be in the boys room not in the kitchen. To this my little Tennyson runs over to the chicken bends down over it and says " Are you ok Mr. Chicken?"
Never mind that mom is in pain, although after this I forgot the pain and started laughing. I guess we all need these funny things that kids do to remind us that its worth tripping over the chicken ten times just to here the two year old ask if he's ok.

kudos to my Pillow

So I have had several people ask me how I do my blogging when I have so much to do. Well I owe almost all of it to this lovely yet plain looking pillow(not my actual pillow. mine has little cats all over it and is much brighter.) If you look the pillow is slanted toward the middle which makes for hands free nursing. I love this pillow. I would suggest it for anyone who is going to nurse. It is especially designed for twins but works well with a single as well. So here's to you EZ-2-nurse pillow. You Rock!

Fun with lipstick

So halloween night right after Tennyson got his costume off he decided to dress up again. Except this time he was going for a full body paint effect. I can just see him as a high schooler now with his entire top painted in school colors. He comes by it honestly though because Donovan did something like that once. Oh well, hopefully by then he'll use real paint and not my lipstick. Body paint is so much cheaper.

Trunk-or-Treat

So here is our little pumpkin patch. Our patch was also graced by batman and a dragon. Bet you've never seen a pumpkin patch as cute as that.

Can you guess what we did tonight?

Yes this last one is real. Donovan made it himself. Isn't it awesome!
