As many of you know this past month one of my best friends lost their house to a freak fire when the house next to theirs exploded. They lost everything because their rental agreement was such that they were not allowed to get renters insurance.
The Schuler's are one of the best families I know and since the loss of there house it seems like almost every imaginable trial has come their way. Please if you have not already helped consider helping in this way.

A 5k race is being held to raise money for the Schulers. It will be Saturday, November 5 at 4:00 p.m. at Evergreen Park in Carbondale. Please join us for the fun event!

If you would like to participate in the race, you can register at harvestmoon5k.blogspot.com. You can run or walk. We will have great dri-fit shirts, yummy snacks, and some awesome items that we will hold a drawing for after the race (that all participants will be entered in).

Even if you don't want to run or walk, come out and support those who are running! It will be a fun event and we would love to have as many people there to support the Schulers as possible. Also, if you don't want to participate in the race but would like to donate, there is a link on the right sidebar of the race website where you can do so. Please spread the word and invite friends, coworkers, neighbors to participate as well.

Thanks for joining us to show the Schulers how much we love them!

Fall is here!

I have a terrible habit of making way to many treats when fall comes. Why? Honestly I don't know but my kids love it. So here is the second (the first was already consumed long ago...Last week) of many fall treats.

So let the fall indulgences begin :)
Today Donovan had the day off from teaching so for family home evening we made a trip to a local pick your own pumpkin patch.
obviously we decided not to pick this one :)
I have to admit that I put in almost all the pictures I took because I couldn't decide between them. They all seemed so cute to me. Of course that's probably because we had so much fun. It's probably good that the camera battery died half way through the trip or you would have had to endure many more proud mommy pictures.

Tenny still hasn't mastered a continuous look at the camera when he smiles :)

Daddy and his five little pumpkins...searching for the perfect pumpkin.

What good little helpers.

Trey's pumpkin ended up being the second largest. It only came in behind Daddy's.

I can't believe our littlest pumpkin turns one this month. As you can tell she really liked getting out, but I think her favorite part as the apple cider slushy's we got at the end. She was like a little kitten that snatched and growled when anyone tried to take it away from her. I have to agree they were absolutely delicious and perfect for the unseasonably warm day's we've been having lately.
My happy helpers did a good job. It was a successful and fun family home(out) evening activity. Stay tuned for more fall fun :)

Catch up

So I decided tonight that I'd actually blog again. I have been so busy since our move that I really didn't have time at first. And then it became an avoidance thing. Anyway I know of two people who will care and really deserve these blogs... My Mom's. So here's to you both for being the motivation for these posts. I'm glad you've both cared enough to keep in touch with us even though we're 1500 miles away. WE Love you both.

p.s. there are enough posts that it spilled over into the next page.:)

The Chop

Remember that tired looking woman with the long stands of hair. Well waa la! Much better. My hair has been giving me neck pain and head aches for a while so I decide to donate it and go for the shortest cut I've had since I was 4. It's been nice to have a change although there are some days that I miss the long locks...but only for a few minutes.

It's also been nice because most of my prego weight is gone which helps me have a lot more energy. I haven't been able to weigh myself though because the kids broke our scale right before we moved. It would be interesting to see where I'm actually at.

King Benjamin

In honor of my friend Kristie we had our first King Benjamin night on Friday. I've decided it's one of the best ways to get ready for General conference. Our kids loved acting out the story and I really thing it brought it to life for them. Especially Tennyson who is a hands on sort of guy. Thanks Kristie! You've started a great tradition for us.

Rain gutter Regatta

Trey's first Rain gutter Regatta. He ended up taking third place.

On the move

So our little mischief maker learned some new things in August and September."Who me Momma? Not me I look so innocent."
"ok maybe I do pull out the books on every shelf every day, but if you'd just do me a favor and leave them on the floor I wouldn't have to pull them out so much."
Eden also started crawling and as you can tell on her eye brow she's gotten fast enough to make a few nice size bonks when her hands don't go as fast as her legs.

But she sure is cute scurrying across the floor.
She also learned that her tongue makes the greatest toy. We love our cute little pumpkin who turns 1 this month. It's been a fun year.

3 by 3

I feel kind of bad about this one. My Mom in Law asked me to post pictures of this months ago, but a lass it's been shoved to the back burner a lot lately. So here is our spidermen in the big city. Blue spidey is climbing the white sky scraper and Red spidey is fighting two bad guys on top of the brown sky scraper. Not a master piece but my twin 3 year old's were happy with it.
ooo...fire :)
Ok blow...
"here lijah let me get that for you" :)

This was by far the favorite present's. In fact they wore their backpacks for the rest of present opening and most of the next week.

Don't mind that scary looking woman with no makeup and probably chocolate icing all over her shirt and face. Just look at the cute happy kids that she just got through throwing a party for :)

Mommy's Helper...I think?

While I was doing household chores Enoch decided Eden must be hungry so He thought he'd help out. Eden was just fine with that especially since Enoch fed her banana's and berries her favorite.

Blue tailed Skink

(Elijah peaking and the skink behind the rain gutter by the house)

A blue tailed what? Ya that's what I thought. Well apparently here in Indiana they have these things called skink's. Looks like a lizard to me. All the same it was great for little boys... and their Mommy to inspect when it got caught in and upturned car ramp in our yard.
