The many sides of Trey

Trey loves to eat and he eats a lot too, but he will never be Fat. The main reason is his perpetual need to move his body. I haven't quite figured it out but there seems to be a switch and some wiring contected between his mouth and his legs. This is how it works. Trey's mouth opens to speek(or eat) and his brain flips a switch to start moving his legs. Often time his legs then fire signals for his arms to move. This happens when he's talking, singing, eating or just plain opening his mouth. I've added a few video clips to show examples. Be careful though when you are watching him talk on the phone. You might get sea sick.

I love...

I Love my body!

No I'm not Vain. I decided I needed to appreciate it more. I once was in a class where the lady talked about how much she had grown to dislike her body because of how it looked. Then a few weeks after her fifth child was born she was standing in the shower looking at how most of her body was going south when she realized how incredible her body was. It had given her four beautiful boys and had just given her a girl. It had been battered, beaten and abused with work, child birth, nursing, and time and yet here it was still going strong. Lately I've been hating the way I look. I think in a way I probably am a little vain because I sometimes wish I had the figure of a 20 year old instead of what I have...The figure of a very matronly mom. It's not just the weight that has been hard though. I acquired lots of stretch marks that make my skin look loose and flabby. I think that may be the hardest part because stretched out, scared skin can never go back.
Anyway last night when I was praying I was thinking of all the wonderful things in my life. The four that top the charts are the reason I have all these stretch marks and the little extra weight I carry. It hit me that I wouldn't trade my beautiful boys for anything in the world. That's why I love my body. It made it through so many trials of life. So maybe it doesn't look great but I think it looks Real good for having four children in six years. So Thank you my body. In the future I will be much kinder and take better care of you. Thank you Heavenly Father for giving me a body and I'm sorry I haven't appreciated it more.
For all of you who are reading think about what your body has done for you... Not what it hasn't done, or what you want it to do but how much it has got you through. Appreciate that and love what God has so graciously given you. After you think about it a bit leave me a comment about why you appreciate your body.

6 year old honesty

So I'm not sure if this blogger uploaded all of this video so just in case the background behind the beginning is that Trey made a letter for Tennyson for his birthday. Notice what Trey says in the letter. I'm sure this will be a great joke between them when they get older.

Happy Birthday Tennyson

So here is the birthday boy the night before his birthday. He has been so excited this year. He tells everyone he meets about how it's going to be his birthday. I have to admit that because of his excitement I have been excited for it too.
Here we are for our Mommy, Daddy, Tenny birthday date. We went to Dairy Queen so Tennyson could get ice cream with his meal. Don't mind that drugged up looking lady in the picture I'm not sure where she came from... Oh wait never mind I guess that's me. Note to self don't take benadryl on the morning of your kids birthday or you will spend the next six hours knocked out, which is what happened.

Tennyson ended up eating more ice then food I think. The ice at dairy queen is good, but this little guy thought it was the best thing on the menu. So much for the grilled cheese and french fries idea. We did eventually get him to consume some calories with a little ice cream.

Then we headed off to the park. By this point momma was kind of out of it. Ok so there was no kind of to it. I was asleep in the van while Daddy and Tenny played at the park. So at this point it became a Father & Son activity.

These are little bells that you can play on. They are actually really pretty sounding so it's not annoying to hear children play on them ( I actually was awake for this picture because it was one of the first ones taken)
Yeah! after a nice long nap momma returned to the land of the living to make a yummy dinner of pizza and watch Tenny open presents.
As Tennyson was opening each present he would say " What is it, It's It's It's..." and then what ever the present was. I have a video of him opening Trey's present to him that I will post next time. It has him asking what it is really excitedly.
After Presents we were off to do the most anticipated event of all. To tell you how much Tenny was excited for this, I picked up frosting on Saturday for his cake and he literally carried it everywhere he went for two days. In fact he even took it to bed with him for naps and at night.
He specifically asked for a " Chalk-lick" birthday cake with "Chalk-lick" frosting. So that's what we did. It worked out great because the chocolate looked like dirt for the motorcycles on top.
He was able to get out all three candles in one big breath. ( as a funny side note Donovan talked to him about making a wish before he blew out his candles. Then he asked what Tenny wanted to wish for. Tenny said " A piece of Chalk-lick birthday cake " Talk about your wish being granted real fast.)
Here's the result of lots of green sprinkles for grass. Of course some of that green might have come from the candle Tenny took a bite out of because he didn't believe us that it was not candy. He now knows the meaning of the word WAX. Translation for three year old "something that doesn't taste good"
So that was the much awaited for 3rd birthday. All I have to say is I love this little boy more now then I think I ever have. I hope everyday I love him just a little more. I Thank God for the gift he has given me to be alive and share these moments with my children.
I Love you Tennyson

Gone Buggy

So we have had quite the experience trying to potty train Tennyson. Thus far no luck, but lots of experience. Anyway one day while sitting on the potty he started telling me how a helicopter sounds and then how a plane sounds. I laughed so hard at his facial expressions that I had to get the camera. In this picture he is pushing air out through his lips to make the helicopter sound. It's not near as funny as some of the other looks I saw but my camera is to slow to catch them.

The other experience Donovan had with Tenny. Donovan thought he heard something in the bathroom while Tennyson was sitting on the potty. Tenny then came running out and this conversation ensued
Donovan "Did you go poopy in the potty?"
Tenny "no?"
Donovan " I thought I heard you go poopy in the potty."
Tenny " no it was my grass."
Donovan "your grass?"
Tenny "ya, my grass." (while pointing to his behind)
Donovan's Thought " on no did someone taught my child vulgar words!"
Donovan " do you mean your bum."
Tenny " No Daddy! My Grass!"
Donovan very worried " No Tenny that's your bum."
Tenny very frustrated " No Daddy my grass went in the toilet!"
Light bulb turns on.
Donovan " Ohhhhh.... Your Gas!"
Tenny " Yes Daddy. My Grass."

Oh what a relief it is. ( in more ways then one.)

These picture are just to show what handsome kids our boys are. Look at those dashing good looks.

P.S. The title refers to the new back round. Aren't those bugs cute and springy.
