Sparkler time

So last night for our Grand firework display we had sparklers. Trey was a little disappointed since in years past it's been a little more varied but the rest of the boys didn't know any different so they thought it was wonderful.
Although Enoch showed tonight that he is terrified of real fireworks he thought the sparklers were awesome and was more then happy to join in the fun.
Elijah on the other hand was a little more hesitant. I think part of that was because we kept saying "no Lijah don't touch it with your other hand!" "Lijah your too close to Enoch!" and my personal favorite " Ouch Elijah you just touched my arm with your sparkler!" (This came from me when he turned to show it to me.) Luckily there were no real burns although the hair on my arm was singed off.
The most fun the boys had was to try and see who could run the farthest down and back without having their sparkler go out.
Daddy decided to join in this one.
Trey proved to be a great sparkler dancer. He's got some sweet moves.
Yeah! Everyone has a sparkler lit at the same time. Mommy even has two since she's carrying and extra person.

GO!!!!!!!!! As you can see from Donovan's sweat drenched back it was quite the work out, but he made it to the end of the block and back. That's quite a feat considering those sparklers were only about six inches long.

It Ended up being a great day before fourth of July. We had a picnic and fireworks and then lit the glow sticks Grandma and Grandpa gave us. Then we sang the National anthem and told the story about it while the kids played with their glow sticks. I think it will go down as one of our most memorable fourths...or day before fourths.

P.S. Don't feel to sorry for Trey and the fireworks. He got to sit out on our back deck tonight and watch all the fireworks go off around us. Which is quite a lot considering the City does a fantastic display(although it was mostly blocked by a tree) and the people here don't skimp on the fireworks. Illinois doesn't have the strict laws so people were setting off aerials all around us.
